Italy flanker Mauro Bergamasco has been slapped with a month long ban for dangerous play during the Rabo Direct Pro 12 League clash with the Ospreys.
Bergamasco was cited for an offence on February 17 and the Italian rugby federation have announced that he will miss the Six Nations as a result.
The Aironi back-row forward will not be allowed to return to action until March the 21st.
He was cited for punching scrum-half Rhys Webb, who had to be taken to hospital after the incident.
Bergamasco only received a yellow card for the incident but was cited for foul play and following Wednesday's Edinburgh-based hearing, which the Italy veteran attended by video-link, he was handed the ban.
